Born on the 10th of September in 2020, Iona joined our farm when she was just 6 months old, capturing our hearts instantly with her teddy bear-like appearance.

Iona quickly established herself as the herd’s sweetheart, exuding charm and endearing herself to all. Her distinct curved horns and long, tousled fringe add to her captivating Highland charm.

Personality: Iona is more than just a pretty face; she’s the herd’s social butterfly. With a big, attractive personality, she enjoys being the centre of attention and making her presence known within the herd. Her journey into motherhood began in April 2023 when she welcomed her first calf, a charming little bull.

Dietary Delights: When it comes to meals, Iona enjoys a wholesome diet of grass, hay, silage, and plenty of veggies. For a special treat, she adores hand-fed potatoes or carrots (safely, through the security of a gate), although those majestic horns remind us to handle with care.

Please note that for your safety, handfeeding will occur with a gate separating you and the cattle. If feasible, our staff will accompany you into the pasture for photos; however, we cannot guarantee proximity or petting within the pasture due to the cow’s large horns. Safety is our priority, and the cattle’s unpredictable head movements make it crucial to prevent unintended injuries. Remember, all meet-and-greet sessions must be pre-booked, ensuring a delightful and secure experience for everyone involved.

🌟 We gladly invite adopters to contribute their creative naming suggestions for any upcoming calf. It’s a delightful way to engage with the anticipation of new arrivals on the farm. However, it’s important to note that the ultimate naming rights reside with our kids, ensuring a touch of familial joy and connection to the Highland cow family.

We will be in touch within 24 hours of purchase to arrange collection or delivery of your keepsake, certificate and pass to come at meet the herd.

The fine print:

• The named individual on the certificate is the official adopter, and the adoption cannot be transferred or refunded.
• The adoption period is valid for one year from the date of purchase and is renewable if desired.
• All inclusions within the adopted package must be utilized within the specified adoption period.
• Adoption does not confer ownership of the animal.
• An animal may be adopted by more than one person, fostering a sense of shared connection.
• In the event that your adopted animal is no longer available at the farm during your adoption period (e.g., due to the animal’s passing or other reasons), you will be offered another animal along with their corresponding package for the remaining duration of your adoption.
